Also backed up my AppleHDA kext - as most major updates replaces it with the original one. Re-installed it and sound is working. I removed the SleepEnabler kext, as Netkas warns it causes a kp again.

Hope they get a new version updated soon. I am used to sleep mode instead of shutting down. To be honest, I have not noticed much difference yet.Edit: Seems I was paranoid about the SleepEnabler kext for nothing. The 10.6.2 version does not kp in 10.6.3. Only the old 10.6.0 version does.

Happy about that!@Shardie.I use the same audio kexts as you. Modified AppleHDA with the HDEnabler. Do you get Headphone out and mic in on the front panel? I only get sound from the Built-in Output.

Which uses the rear connector only. Front audio out is dead. Weird, since both worked in Leopard with the ALC883.kext.

This is just an annoyance really, as it means I have to disconnect my home theatre line out when I need to use headphones for skype. (front mic also does not work, have to use the rear mic in). @Shardie.I use the same audio kexts as you. Modified AppleHDA with the HDEnabler. Do you get Headphone out and mic in on the front panel?

OS X 10.6.3Hardware Compatibility. Portable Computers. This is a hardware compatibility list for portable computers. We want to keep it as accurate as possible, but please, do not entirely rely on this list when buying a portable computer. Don't forget to add how you got OSx86 running on your portable x86 computer, and to use proper English.

Please see the discussion page for proper instructions on how to input your system specs. Also, please contribute to the page, which should list a more granular view of compatibility. If your computer isn't listed, you should try it if you have a SSE2 or higher processor. Use vanilla kernel if it is supported.

ONLY add hardware that you have TESTED. Don't add hardware just because you think it might work. Please add hardware into tables. This is for 10.6.3 builds only. Please list your computers in alphabetical order by manufacturer (Asus, Acer, Dell, HP, etc)For how to edit the Wiki, please see thread. Contents.

Atheros Wifi & Wired Setup NotesI don't know if it was my USB drive, or an issue with the installer, but I kept getting a kernel panic when booting installer. I installed Chameleon 2.0 on a thumb drive and just used that as a boot device, selecting my other USB drive as the boot drive and it loaded perfectly. Also needed to use a thumbdrive with the Chameleon 2.0 RC1 installed on it to get the system out of the reboot loop. Aspire 5810T. QE. Install Method: iAtkos S3 DVD + Apple 10.6.3 Update.

OS Version: 10.6.3. CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 @ 1.4GHz. RAM: 4gb DDR3. Graphics: Intel 4500HD (works at full 1366 x 768 resolution, but no acceleration). Sound: Works after patching AppleHDA kext fully, all inputs. DVDRW Drive: Works OOB. Wired Network: Works with the AtherosL1cEthernet.kext found at.

Wireless Network: Not working yet. Bluetooth: Works OOB, activated from Fn-F3. Acer CrystalEye Webcam: Recognized by OSX as a USB webcam, however no graphic acceleration means I am unable to check its functionality. It's a matter of kext since when installing from another source the webcam turned on to take a snaphot of me. Keyboard/Trackpad: Works OOB with iatkos S3 kexts, called VoodooPS2 + trackpad, Multi-touch?(don't know how to test it).

Power Management: Battery Management working using VoodooBattery kext. Shutdown/Restart also work OOB. Sleep locks the partition, needs to be mounted+unmounted from Disk Utility (dvd).

Acer Launch Pad: Soft-Touch-sensitive volume controls/scroll wheel both work OOB. Additional Notes: Failed installing other distributions of Snow Leopard, System is very usable but battery life is shorter than Windows Vista, not benchmarked. Since Windows 7 was installed before Snow Leopard this particular instance with the intention of dual-booting, the osinstall.mpkg swap-out hack was performed, described here:. Make a note of partition sizes.

Netkas

All parts bold in this section pertain to dual-booting. Since I never had any luck with NetbookInstaller, I did everything that it did manually (dropping KEXTs that worked in the Extra/Extensions folder, building the Extensions.mkext with Kext Utility, editing the com.apple.boot.plist file with the edits mentioned in the table, dropped the Atom Mach Kernel in the root of the drive, assembled a patched DSDT (coming in a future bundle), and installed the latest version of Chameleon 2. The update to 10.6.2 went painlessly (just execute the update bundle ), the same went for 10.6.3. After installing and updating, your Windows boot will be messed up. To fix it, you will need a USB optical drive. Put your Windows 7 disk into the drive, boot from it, click through the wizard until it displays 'Install Now'. Instead of clicking that, click 'Repair My Computer'.

It will scan for a Windows install and not find one (the one it's looking for is not on an 'active partition'). Click through to get to the tools, then click on the Command Prompt link.

Then, type out the codes in this sequence:. Diskpart. list disk. select disk # (the number that matches the size of the internal hard drive, pretty much always 0, though I had it listed at 1 at one point). list partition.

select partition # (the partition you installed WINDOWS on). make activeThat will make the Windows partition the bootable partition.

After this, restart and boot from the optical drive again. Go through the wizard again and click on 'Repair My Computer'. This time, Windows will find the install on the hard drive and repair it.

If it can't fix it once, reboot and do it again. It will get fixed. Anyway, after it's fixed; reboot again and boot from the optical drive.

Get to the Command Prompt by the same process as I described above. Type out the same commands as above but make sure to select the MAC OS X partition and make it active. Then, reboot and boot from the hard drive. Hopefully you'll see the slightly-more-awesome Chameleon boot menu instead of that drab Windows boot menu. PS/2. VoodooPS/2 or Apple PS/2 (whichever you prefer, though voodoo PS/2 supports two finger scrolling)You can experiment with different ATI drivers, but they never made a difference to me. Display works, but graphics performance isn't great, so I don't think it's properly hardware accelerated.Whatever you do, DO NOT install any networking drivers, it may just be me but every time I install ethernet/wireless drivers it always leads to a crashy installation. Also for some reason if I boot in 32 bit mode, airport is still enabled and hence causes crashing, so you'll have to avoid 32 bit mode. For internet I'm running a Realtek RTL8188SU, some drivers I've found have crashed in 64bit mode, but I found one that works in which is apparently for the Airlink 101. When you plug the dongle in, for me it crashes if I try to use airport to do anything, so I have to connect to wireless networks and set up profiles etc using the Airlink utility.Graphics Enabler and pci=1 seem to make graphics reasonably supported - ie Photo booth seems to working, whereas I got a black screen before hand.

However I still have no joy with VLC and the like.I've installed Flash player and tried browsing Flash content with a few browsers, safari and chrome seem to crash instantly, but Firefox seems to work OK.Feel free to update to 10.6.5 using software update. Not the best laptop for hackintosh, but it can be done! After installation download RadeonHD.10.6.x.kext from insanelymac forum. Just follow instructions on previous linked page - 'In RadeonHD.kext/Contents/Info.plist, set 'EnableHardWareCursor' to false. Rebuild the kernel cache and reboot.' Resolution works for me only when I boot from flash drive when I have installed Chameleon RC5 bootloader, if I boot from HDD it doesn't work and have some issues with wi-fi.Safe updated to 10.6.6 with software update.

I haven't tried doing the combo update to 6.8 so I am not entirely sure that will work. One side note:This hackintosh will ONLY WORK IF YOU HAVE THE NVIDIA NVS 3100M model. Otherwise, you are out of luck.accusourceit@gmail.comemail me if you have questions HP Pavilion DV2000 (DV2268EA).
