In Adobe Acrobat 7.0.8 Professional the 'Create PDF' button displays 'From File' as a choice. However, when I select this and then try to create a PDF from a Word or Excel file I get this message:'Additional files will need to be installed to create PDF from this file. Do you want to run the Acrobat Installer in repair mode?'

After running the Acrobat Installer' in repair mode and then re-starting the computer the same message appears. On my computer I have: Windows XP with all of the updates; Adobe Acrobat 7.0.8; Adobe Distiller 7.0; Adobe Designer 7.0; Adobe ImageReady 7.0.1; Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1; Internet Explorer 7; and Microsoft Office XP with all of the updates.Does anyone have a solution?Mar.@adobeforums.com02.12.06 11:28. Dear Mark, Michael, and Jon,Mark said: 'They are tied together. You can't have one without the other.' However, I was able to use the 'Create PDF' menu in Acrobat to create PDFs from Office files when I was using Acrobat 7.0.5. This was without the Acrobat Add-ins for Office.I updated to 7.0.7 and then to 7.0.8 because the Adobe website listed 7.0.8 as a 'Critical Update'.I also received automatic updates for Windows XP (such as Internet Explorer 7) and updates for Office XP.After these updates I experienced a lot of problems when using Word. The program would suddenly terminate and I also received Runtime errors: 'Microsoft Visual C Runtime Library Runtime Error!' .After I removed the Acrobat 7.0.8 Add-ins for Office I no longer had any problems.

However, I could not create PDFs by using the Acrobat 7.0.8 'Create PDF' menu.I have uninstalled 7.0.8 and reinstalled 7.0.5 without installing the Acrobat Add-ins for Office. I can now use the Acrobat 7.0.5 'Create PDF' menu to create PDFs from Office files. Is there any way that I can install 7.0.8 and still use the 'Create PDF' menu? Thanks for your help!William.@adobeforums.com04.12.06 16:15.
